Since Kammavar Association of North America (KANA) is a Non-Profit organization, it is essential for a nonprofit organization to have an organizational structure. Board of Directors is an important part of this organization structure.
What Role the Board of Directors play within our Organization?
The Board of Directors is the governing body of our organization where Individuals who sit on the board are responsible for overseeing our organization’s activities. They meet periodically to discuss about the affairs, plan of actions, objectives, goals and targets for our organization. These meetings take place throughout the year to discuss and make necessary decisions. Terms set up for our board members will be until Annual Meeting.
How did we select our Board Members?
Choosing the right individuals to the board is the most crucial part and we wanted to ensure that the Board of Directors are aligned with our vision who can bring their best abilities and vast experiences to the table. We also wanted individuals who are widely knowledgeable & understands our community, culture and customs with strong leadership qualities.
In that effort, we have reached out to individuals and seniors within our community who’re passionate and experienced in community outreach that aligns with our organization’s mission. We intended to put together a council of elders with diverse profiles along with various backgrounds. Furthermore, we wanted to confirm that various required skill sets are in place. They’ll be providing guidance, leadership and insight in various aspects, which will enable the organization to reach its heights in community service.
What Responsibilities the Board of Directors play within our Organization?

BOD will set the tone and direction for our organization.

BOD will help us to ensure that our organization can operate to its fullest capacity

BOD also engages in grooming and development of next generation leaders.

BOD will provide support, knowledge, and access to unique professional networks and other organizations similar to us.

Board members will not get involved in day-to-day operations; instead they work very closely with steering committee and other sub-committees.

Board of Directors:
1. Mr. Venkadasamy Srinivasan hails from Vellakulam, Near Sankarankovil. He came to the United States in the 1970’s and currently lives in Dallas, TX Metro area. He’s an entrepreneur in IT Consulting. He is designated as the President in the Board of Directors.
2. Mrs. Selvi Rammohan hails from Chennai. She came to the United States in the 1990’s and currently lives in San Francisco, CA Metro area. She is an experienced entrepreneur in IT Consulting. She is designated as the Secretary in the Board of Directors.
3. Mrs. Radhika Pathy hails from Coimbatore. She came to the United States in the 1980’s and currently lives in Chicago, IL Metro area. She’s a practicing Certified Public Accountant. She is designated as the Treasurer in the Board of Directors
4. Mr. Venkitasamy Perumalsamy hails from Vellakulam, Sankarankovil. He came to the United States in the 1970’s and currently lives in Newark, NJ Metro area. He is a Professional Engineer & entrepreneur in Engineering & Construction Management.
5. Mr. Ethiraj Muniyappan hails from Aruppukkottai. He came to the United States in the 1990’s and currently lives in Atlanta, GA Metro area. He’s an ERP consultant in IT Industry.
6. Ram Rammohan hails from Onamakkulam/Kovilpatti. He came to the United States in the 1980’s and currently lives in New York City Metro area. He’s an Engineer/Senior Compliance Inspector with NYC Environmental Protection Dept.
7. Mr. Narayanasamy Seenivasan hails from Kovilpatti. He came to the United States in the 1980’s and currently lives in Tulsa, OK. He holds a MS in Paper Technology an expert in that industry.
8. Mrs. Lakshmi Suresh hails from M. Subbulapuram/Theni. She came to the United States in the 1990’s and currently lives in Los Angeles, CA Metro area. She’s an Entrepreneur and experienced Realtor in the Real Estate industry. She is also holding the position of Vice President in Mazhai Thuli Foundation in Theni, India.
9. Mr. Perialwar Venkataramanujam hails from Kaalaampatti near Kovilpatti. He came to the United States in the 1970’s and currently lives in Chicago, IL Metro area. He’s an Engineer & Entrepreneur in Business Solutions.
10. Mr. Radhakrishnan Gurusamy hails from Pudhupatti near Sankarankovil. He came to the United States in the 1990’s and currently lives in Detroit, MI Metro area. He’s an entrepreneur, Founder & Executive Chairman of Technosoft Corp., a large, reputed IT consulting firm.
